Food laws are laws which restrict the diet. These include the original diet from Genesis 1, the expanded diet of Genesis 9, and the Covenant Diet of Leviticus 11 and Deuteronomy 14, as well as any other passages discussing what man may or may not eat. Theonomists hold the position that Christians are held to the Covenant Diet. The Law of the Covenant Diet is, "Thou shalt not eat any abominable thing" (Deuteronomy 14:3) and "to make a distinction between the unclean and the clean, and between the living thing that may be eaten and the living thing that may not be eaten." (Leviticus 11:47). However, Jesus has made all foods clean (Mark 7:19, Acts 10:9-16), so the lists of unclean animals offered in Leviticus 11 and Deuteronomy 14 are obsolete.
