Prophecy (any prophecy of the kind mentioned in scripture, whether in the Old Testament or the New Testament) is claiming to speak new revelation which comes from YHWH, with the full authority of YHWH. A false claim of prophecy is thus a violation of the commandment against taking YHWH's name in vain. It is a very serious crime.
