This command finds its ultimate fulfillment in our relationship to God, by whom we are adopted as his own children (Galatians 4:5, Romans 8:15), because of the work of Jesus Christ who has reconciled us to the Father. In the New Covenant, God writes his law on our hearts, enabling us to honor him maximally in heaven forever.
