Caso de ley es la etiqueta que se usa comúnmente para las leyes bíblicas que tienen una fórmula hipotética: si esto sucede, entonces haz otra cosa.
This definition of "case law" is broader than lawyers typically use the term, but it is common among those who study Biblical law. The lawyers will have to accept the popular usage. Maybe if they had been involved earlier in studying Biblical law, they could have had more influence over the terminology.
The case laws teach us about how to apply Biblical law is various situations. They expand upon and help define the limits of the strictly apodictic (simple command formula) laws.
