Giurisprudenza
Case law is the commonly used label for the Biblical laws which have a hypothetical formula: If this happens, then do this.
This definition of "case law" is broader than lawyers typically use the term, but it is common among those who study Biblical law. The lawyers will have to accept the popular usage. Maybe if they had been involved earlier in studying Biblical law, they could have had more influence over the terminology.
The case laws teach us about how to apply Biblical law is various situations. They expand upon and help define the limits of the strictly apodictic (simple command formula) laws.
